fields and through woods, vistas opening up and then disappearing again as you
cross North to South, East to West, on the Ebor or the Leeds Country Way.

created to enhance it are newcomers here; this is land where people thrived
for many hundreds of years before Henry Lascelles bought the Harewood and
Gawthorpe Estates in the early 18th century and his son Edwin built the House
and the landscape it sits in – the Harewood you see today.
