Collection: Makers & Craft
The Harewood Biennial, utilises Harewood’s rich craft heritage to produce original and unique exhibitions focused on craft and design every two years, demonstrating Harewood’s contemporary but authentic approach to exhibitions and its audiences, enticing new people to visit country houses and witness heritage in a completely different context.
The exhibition Useful/Beautiful: Why Craft Matters, was held at Harewood in 2019, the first iteration of the Harewood Biennial. It aimed to challenge preconceptions, spark interest and inspire debate about the role craft can play in culture, identity and society.
