The books in Harewood’s libraries include both rare and highly personal volumes which reflect the varied interests of the Lascelles family over the last 250 years, including horticulture and landscape design. Harewood is famous for its iconic ‘Capability’ Brown landscape, which has over the years been visited by many of the leading gardeners and plantsmen of their age, from Humphrey Repton to Alan Titchmarsh. The Lascelles family have always taken a keen interest in gardening and their libraries are filled with volumes containing horticultural knowledge and know-how from throughout the centuries.
